The Basler flight today was cancelled due to ground fog at EGRIP

Snow removal: Frederik is removing snow from the drill trench, and Trevor and Dominic throw snow blocks into a pile that grows every day.

We prepared for the arrival of Polar 5 and waited… Later it was cancelled, and we now hope we will receive the plane tomorrow. Lots of snow blocks are still being removed from the trenches. In the isotope warm laboratory, the setting up of equipment continues and is now reaching a point where measurements can be performed. The cold weather continues and with some wind, work outside is a bit more challenging.
Due to the long working days, several people take a ski trip after dinner to relax.

What we did today:

  1. Removing snow from between Carpenters and Mechanics garage.
  2. Packing logging equipment. Working on data.
  3. Revising skiway markers of the NE lead-in.
  4. Trimming of the ceilings in the snow caves.
  5. Work on setting up the isotope CFA laboratory. Ready to measure first artificial samples.
  6. Waiting for the Basler that did not come.

Weather today: Some ground fog and haze and thin low clouds. Temp. - 19 °C to -27 °C. Wind: 4 kt to 12 kt from NW. Visibility: to 2-5 km during day, in the evening unrestricted.
