The Last Saturday in camp

Saturday night group picture

The EGRIP field season is really reaching the end – so this Saturday was the last. We had a really good evening with lamb and potato gratin followed by ‘risalamande’ with caramel sauce (no cherries in camp) prepared by Sverrir and Dorthe. During the evening there was an attempt to stream karaoke over the satellite with mixed success. Both Saturday and Sunday were mostly big packing days involving all from camp.

What we did during the weekend:

  1. Building four pallets
  2. Taking the last surface tent down
  3. Taking the pp and the cfa Viessman cabins down in the science trench
  4. Test of L-band radar
  5. Checking all skiway flags
  6. Taking the flag line down
  7. Closing the staircase entrance to the trenches
  8. Removing the outdoor funiture
  9. Generator maintenance
  10. Packing Alabama radars
  11. Cleaning and organizing in the Kitchen

EGRIP population is 23

Weather: Wind between 3 kts and 9 kts. Wind between SW and W. Mostly sunny with temperatures between -18 °C and -3 °C. It is gradually getting colder. FL, Dorthe Dahl-Jensen
