Waiting and Texting

Spending the waiting texting

Thursday was the next day waiting on delayed planes. A rather interesting day as a skier twice departed Schenectady to turn back due to mechanical issues. At the end of the day no skier reached Greenland so clearly no mission to EGRIP next day either. The last two weatherports were taken down and stored on the big overwinter sledges and we built the last pallets. A good part of the day was free and it clear that time has changed … from playing games together to being ‘out of camp’ on phones, pads and labtops.

What we did during the day:

  1. Took the last two weatherports down
  2. Placed all weatherports on sledge
  3. Weatherport and timber sledges to winter hills
  4. Extra pRES measurements behind the white garage tent.
  5. Made the last pallets
  6. Storage sledge placed on winter hill

EGRIP population is 23

Weather: Wind between 4 kts and 10 kts. Wind from NW. Overcast and light snow most of the day with some clearing in the evening. Temperatures between -16 °C and -4 °C.
