Still waiting

Output from the ceilometer

This morning we got the news that the Skiers were grounded as part of the US defense grounding of nearly a third of their C130. The planned pull outs 7th and 10th of August will be postphoned to 12th and 13th of August… So we opened the use of water again for showers and clothes washing and postphoned the take down of the snow melteres. The weather has been quite changeable with clouds and snow fall and wind from west to north. We have a ceilometer in camp that observes the clouds. The figure above shows how the cloud cover over 4 hours can be variable between high and low clouds and showers from time to time that reaches to the surface. The ceilometer screen looks like a piece of modern art.

What we did during the day:

  1. Taking showers and shoveling snow into the snow melter
  2. Put the drone tent up outside the Dome to reduce the amount of people sleeping in the Dome
  3. Repaired a starter on a skidoo
  4. Additional pRES measurements
  5. Fuelling skidoos
  6. Walking, skiing, crocket, running, knitting
