Enjoying a warm pool

Frederik enjoying a warm bath in the main snow melter to be drained.

With the expectation of the first of two pull out missions on Tuesday we used the day to take down the main snow melter. The excess heat from the generator is used to melt snow and the water is used for showers, dishwashing, toilets and washing machine. Before the container was drained Frederik enjoyes a 37 deg C warm dip in the ‘pool’. He is by several days the cleanest guy in camp…The snow melter is now drained, cleaned and placed on the cargo line for use next year.

What we did during the day:

  1. Taken the main snow melter down
  2. Taken down the Drone tent and one of the three Arcic Ovens
  3. Taken down the satellite disc
  4. Moved ceilometer to the Dome
  5. Made more than 1000 full core plastic bags in preparation of next
  6. year’s deep drilling
  7. Cleaned snow and ice away around the Dome

EGRIP population is 23
