Workday in camp

Jonathan, Sune and Josephine taking a weatherport down with Sepp's help.

The camp has now entered the last three weeks where packing and organizing the camp are the big issues. We need to send the equipment out from camp to Kangerlussuaq for the drilling at Müller ice core next year and also the equipment not needed for the traverse to GRIP in 2025. So all boxes and all equipment stored in the garages need to be divided and documented. A big job for the coming weeks.
Monday, Josephine, Jonathan, Sune and sensei Sepp took down 2 weatherport (7 and 8) and also Trevor’s tent so it can be dried before packing.
Sverrir had received the needed spareparts last Saturday to repair and maintain the generator and the new PistenBully.
Louise got on top of the medical documents, Jeppe prepared the vegetables for long time storage in the kitchen tent and Dorthe used the whole day getting on top of reports after the eventful last week.

What we did today:

  1. Took down weatherports 7 and 8.
  2. Service on generator.
  3. Maintained the new PistenBully.
  4. Took down Trevor’s Arctic Oven tent.
  5. Checked up on medical files and equipment.
  6. Prepared vegetables for storage in kitchen tent.

Weather today: Overcast the whole day with periods with light snow. Wind between 5 kt and 11 kt from variable directions (N to S to SW) and temperatures between -10°C and -5°C.
