The Logging Cabin

Taking down the Logging Cabin. Left: Sune and Jonathan watching Sverrir receiving a snow shower while holding a ceiling panel. Right: The panels stacked in the Science trench and drying on the surface.

Finally, all the panels from the Logging Cabin are apart and stacked in the Science Trench. It has taken Jonathan and Simon, with the help from Sverrir and Sepp, a few days. Next step was to carry the panels to a Nansen sledge parked at the bottom of the inclined entrance to the trenches and pull them up. All from camp helped with this. On the surface they are now placed so the ice and snow can evaporate from the surface before they are packed on a pallet. We hope they all can fit on a air force pallet.

What we did today:

  1. Got all panels of the Logging Cabin up to the snow surface.
  2. Documented boxes and pallets.
  3. Maintained vehicles.
  4. Worked on packing the Swiss saw.

Weather today: Overcast during the day with groundfog. Wind between 2 kt and 13 kt from turning from SW to WSW and temperatures between -8°C and -5°C.
