Restaurant EGRIP

Dinner at EGRIP (sorry for the format of the picture).

Chef Gonzalo is spoiling us. Food is far better than possible to find in Kangerlussuaq and far more advanced than what we cook at home. Dinner is served European style at the tables and we often have fish, meat, salad, several choices of vegetables including puree. Thanks Gonzalo!

What we did today:

  1. Deep drilling core length at 19.00: 3.40 m.
  2. Drillers depth at 19.00: 834.6 m.
  3. Water vapour, methane, aerosols, snow and boundary layer measurements.
  4. Physical properties measurements.
  5. Water isotope sampling for sublimation studies.
  6. Grooming of skiway.
  7. White garage tent moved and snow hill produced.
  8. Japanese pit study.

Ad. 1. After a stable period the drill electronics failed. It took most of the day to repair the electronic unit. Drilling was resumed after dinner.

Weather: Sunny with periods of overcast with snow showers, wind 0-5 m/s from SW veering to NW, temperatures -22°C to -10°C.
