Group photo on Saturday, including two EGRIP group members busy elsewhere.
This weekend has been very exciting here at EGRIP, first we had our festive Saturday dinner-party with Sonja, Pia, Nico and Julien preparing an excellent dinner three course for all of us. It was a good evening to be indoors as wind picked up speed, soon leading to drifting snow outside. Luckily the wind subsided in time for receiving Skier 21 to have perfect landing weather Sunday around noon. The Skier brought not only supplies for camp, but also 29 excited visitors to camp. The Joint Science Education Project (JSEP) gives high school students from Greenland, Denmark and the US a fantastic opportunity to do science projects in Greenland and this year we have the pleasure of hosting them for 3 nights here at EGRIP. Hence EGRIP camp has now grown with 15 more yellow tents brought in here by JSEP, and put up with impressive speed and coordination by our JSEP guests. Hence we now have a neat yellow tent city here in the EGRIP suburbs. During the evening Sunday, our chef Frederik and Jens served all 62 in camp fabulous pizzas – a real treat for all!
In the EGRIP drill trench we still use the setup used for the NEEM drilling, which produces nice runs during day, while the night shift cleans the bore hole during night using a filter.
The crews in the processing line the isotope CFA lab. and the Physical Properties labs. all continued making good progress during the day, cutting and measuring samples at a steady pace. Still all teams are working on ice from this years brittle ice section. Processing and Physical Properties measurements was, however, suspended Sunday, as the crews were needed for logistics tasks in connection with our Skier operation.
What we did during the weekend:
Weather: Windy with snow and snowdrift Saturday, improving and gradually getting more sunny Sunday. Temperature -20 °C to -10 °C. Wind up to 20kt (gusting 25kt) from NW Saturday evening, but turning SW and decreasing to 10kt Sunday.

Left: Busy Saturday chefs: Nico, Pia, Sonja and Julien - one gender seems to be moving too fast in the kitchen for the camera, while the other is in focus. Right: JSEP tent city being erected here at EGRIP with speed and great organization by the JSEP group Sunday.
