Ready to go

Will enjoying Frederiks cookies

The last day in camp for 18 of the 23 EGRIP’ers. The day was busy with preparations. Pallets were finalized, four weatherports taken down and many moved with their sleeping bags to the main Dome to sleep on the first floor. Will has been begging Frederik for cookies and Frederik used this last evening to make many, many cookies. Will took advantage of the treat. At dinner time JP informed from Kangerlussaq that no skiers arrived – all returned to Schenectady due to mechanics. So the planned EGRIP mission August 7th is postponed to Thursday August 8th.

What we did during the day:

  1. Packed four weatherports
  2. Cleaned and made order in Drillers workshop
  3. Maintained generator
  4. Documented white garage
  5. GPS of skiway
  6. Cleaned snow away from small tents and generator sledge

EGRIP population is 23

Weather: Wind betweem 0 kts and 6 kts. Wind between WSW and W. Mostly sunny with morning fog and temperatures between -21°C and -10°C. It is gradually getting colder.
