Life at EGRIP

Frederiks wonderful kitchen with Coen as kitchen helper today.


The camp is really in routine and all are busy drilling, processing, cooking, preparing for shut down on the surface and maintaining the track vehicles. Highlights today has been Frederik’s wonderful cooking, the camp is COVID free, drilling is going super well and science trench is getting amazing line scan images starting to show small undulations in the annual layers.

What we did today:

  1. Seven drill runs from Tuesday 7 pm to Wednesday 7 pm. Logger’s depth at 7 pm: 2386.82 m. Logged core: 22.90 m.
  2. Processing in science trench. Last bag packed: 4145: Production: 33.00 m.
  3. Pit samples for mercury in progress, 3 m depth.
  4. Repairing and maintaining of skidoo and Pistenbully.

Weather today: Light morning fog clearing to blue sky and evening fog again. Wind 2-8 kn from SW. Temperatures between -22 and -11°C.
